Musician and elemental artist, Katherine Ball, is re-writing the past with a fine jewelry line, incorporating hand-mined gemstones and vintage metals into her work.

Using precious and semi-precious gemstones, along with antique finery found throughout the world, she creates works of art rooted in ruins.

With a Master of Arts in Health and Medical Journalism from the University of Georgia, Katherine uses her research skills and geological knowledge to mine gem grade stones, some within the same southern regions perused by Tiffany & Co., during the turn of the 20th century.

 

Initially learning knowledge of these natural treasures from her grandmother, who spent her summers in the Highlands area of North Carolina, Katherine began a love for science and excursion at an early age.

Along with these specimen, she also seeks out unique and high quality products from top ethically based gemstone suppliers. With Great Dame, she hopes to showcase these natural wonders, while bringing awareness to global conservation and sustainability.
